Gold & Sterling Silver - Every piece is made to be worn, and with wear, a few soft marks will find their way onto the metal. That’s normal, and it’s part of the story. To keep it bright, wash it gently in warm water with a little mild dish soap, use a soft-bristled toothbrush for the details, then buff dry with a soft cloth. Take it off before swimming, workouts or cleaning, and store it in a dry pouch when you’re not wearing it.

Diamond - Your diamond will sparkle most when it’s kept clean, so give it the same gentle wash regularly and steer clear of harsh chemicals. Once a year, bring it to a jeweler for a quick check and professional clean. It keeps the setting secure and clears away any buildup you can’t see.

Every order ships free, fully insured, to anywhere in the world. Your piece is covered by our Limited Lifetime Warranty, which stands behind any manufacturing defect for as long as you own it. Normal wear and tear comes with a well-loved piece, so it isn’t included, and if another jeweler repairs or alters it, the warranty no longer applies. Read our Limited Lifetime Warranty for the full details.

Understanding the 4Cs

The Diamond Guide

Every diamond is graded on four qualities: carat, color, clarity and cut. Use this guide to understand what each one means and choose what matters most to you.

Carat

The 4Cs

Carat

Carat is a measure of weight, not size. One carat equals 0.2 grams, so two diamonds with the same carat weight can look slightly different in size depending on their cut and shape.

What is a carat?

A carat is one fifth of a gram and is divided into 100 points. A 0.50 carat diamond is 50 points.

What does total carat weight mean?

Total carat weight (TCW) is the combined weight of every diamond in a piece. It is the number to compare when a ring has side stones or a diamond band.

Color

The 4Cs

Color

Color describes how colorless a diamond is. The scale runs from D, which is colorless, down to Z. Grades D to F are colorless and G to J are near colorless.

Which color grade should I choose?

D to F are the most colorless. G and H look colorless to the eye in most settings and can offer better value.

Does the metal change how color looks?

Yes. White metals show more of a diamond's color, while yellow and rose gold can make a slightly warmer grade look whiter.

Clarity

The 4Cs

Clarity

Clarity describes the tiny internal features and surface marks in a diamond, graded from Flawless to Included. Most of them are only visible under 10x magnification.

What are inclusions?

Inclusions are tiny internal features that form as a diamond grows. They affect the clarity grade, and many cannot be seen without magnification.

What does eye-clean mean?

An eye-clean diamond has no inclusions visible to the naked eye. VS1 and VS2 are typically eye-clean, and many SI1 stones are as well, depending on where the inclusion sits.

Cut

The 4Cs

Cut

Cut describes how well a diamond's facets interact with light, and it has the greatest influence on sparkle. A well-cut diamond returns more light to the eye as brilliance, fire and scintillation.

What affects the cut grade?

Proportions, symmetry and polish. Together they decide how much light is reflected back through the top of the diamond.

Which cut grade should I choose?

Choose Excellent for the most sparkle. Very Good can be a smart value because the difference is hard to see by eye.
